Living simply in the mountains. Writing stories, tending bees, and building with care.

Where wild chestnut honey meets wild imagination.

Discover ethically harvested Mel da Terra honey and the eco-conscious Leila’s Light children’s book series, created with care, courage, and a love for nature.

Alongside this work, I also offer independent, remote construction advisory services for those planning to build or renovate with clarity and confidence.

The Mel da Terra logo reflects a life rooted in the mountains of central Portugal, where bees gather nectar from chestnut and walnut blossom. Simple and soulful, the design honours a seasonal way of working — small-batch, slow-crafted honey made in harmony with nature.
The Beekeeper Writer logo blends nature and creativity — a clean, symbolic mark that honours both the world of bees and the power of stories. It reflects a life lived slowly, with intention, in the hills of Portugal where honey is harvested and books are written.
The Leila’s Light logo captures the wonder and wisdom at the heart of the series — a symbol of inner light, nature, and the courage to see the world differently. Gentle yet bold, it reflects the spirit of a girl guided by love, truth, and imagination.

A Life in the Mountains.
A Career in Construction.

Out here in the mountains, life moves slowly. Stories are written between the trees, the bees, and the shifting of the seasons.

Before this life began, I spent many years in construction, surveying, tendering and managing projects on everything from English Heritage stately homes to multi-million-pound buildings.

Alongside writing and beekeeping, I now work as a Remote Construction Advisor, helping homeowners and expats avoid expensive and stressful mistakes in their building projects.

If you’re planning a renovation, extension, new build or tiny house, you can explore my advisory work below.

I share reflections on building, writing and life in the mountains. If that resonates, you can follow along below.
